DR. CHRISTIAN ZIPPEL: PHILOSOPHER, WRITER, HOLISTIC DOCTOR, FITNESS EXPERT, GLOBETROTTER…

Whenever I am asked: “Who is this Zippel and what does he do?”, I always give the following explanation: To describe him is not easy. He is a distinctly unique person. Christian is mentally, physically and spiritually the freest, and perhaps most developed person I have met thus far.

I was curious, whether mutual friends had a better answer to this question, so I asked Tim, a mutual friend, I met through Christian, who has also traveled with him several times.

Tim’s detailed answer:
“Christian is a philosopher, who moves often, and explains many things, in a wholly understandable way. Something lively emerges from his writings, which helps many people find and develop themselves anew. He has created a mighty and self-confident philosophy, which forges something new out of destruction. A philosophy that is direct, robust and sometimes shocking, but always honest. It’s also supportive and motivating.

Christian’s texts, articles and books inspire thought and reflection, as well as helping people to overcome stagnation and take action. His support provides direction and stability for those prepared to break out of their comfort zone: anyone wanting to make changes, dissatisfied with life, stuck a rut, or even living the wrong life. He offers the potential for a new life – a way to find and live your dream.“

“And Peter, how would you describe Dr. Z?”, I asked our muscular, Bodybuilding World Champion friend from Ruhrpott, Germany.

Peter’s brief response:
“No idea, you can’t describe him. Simply read his book, Leider geil, fett und faul, to gain the best insight into his way of thinking, feeling, living…”

DR. CHRISTIAN ZIPPEL AS A PHILOSOPHICAL, PRAGMATIC MENTOR

Initially, I had only known Zippel from his books, and from stories and accounts our mutual friend Peter had told. Once I had reached a point in my life, where I felt it important and essential to make changes, I wondered what Dr. Z would have to say on my circumstances. So, I booked a coaching session with him, on the island of Rügen, and off I went, to spend a few days with him.

This marked the beginning of intense exchanges, a wonderful friendship and the catalyst for AMOR FATI. From then on, I wanted to know everything about Dr. Z’s strong and liberating philosophy on life, to try it out for myself, and to integrate it into my own life. For several years, I proceeded to invest in multiple coaching sessions and travels with Christian. He became my mentor and close friend,  living together several times over the years. In short, I learned with him how to live, love, teach and embody the AMOR FATI lifestyle for myself.

In addition to being an author and philosopher, Christian is an accomplished therapist and coach. His approach is entirely holistic, for body, mind and soul, as well as tackling social, sexual and financial issues, providing his own very thoughtful insights. Christian also practices what he preaches. All components combined creates a unique offering that exists nowhere else on this planet, in the same quality and intensity. He is able to read people instantly and meet them where they are at. People are able to reflect with him, reveal their harmful patterns, identify outdated thought processes, and define what needs to be eliminated, so they can take out the trash!

For every challenge, he finds ways to overcome them, in a way which allows one to grow from the experience. As in his aptly named book, “Bring den Müll raus” (English translation: Take out the Trash), he encourages old thought patterns to be restructured and malicious programs be overwritten with better ones. He achieves his aims, without denigration or arrogance, leaving people happier, more balanced and satisfied – in flow with themselves and nature.

He connects mind and body, showing how Yin and Yang interact, and why they complement each other. He teaches how to dance through life, with fun and enjoyment. Let’s face it, how many people truly still do this?

Christian shows how to create stability within, instead of depending on external sources – how to create a stable core around the inner chaos. He offers a glimmer of hope for anyone wanting change and yearning to find their truest self.

PHD IN PHILOSOPHY & PUMPING IRON?

In his mid-twenties, Christian obtained a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich. At the same time, he was also working as a fencing instructor and personal trainer. He had always wanted to walk the talk, teaching only what he would also want for himself. Christian sculpted his body on the gymnastics rings and with heavy weights. At his peak, he weighed 104kg and consumed up to 8,000 kcal per day – all accomplished naturally. In his book, HFT – Hochfrequenztraining & Autoregulation (HFT – High Frequency Training & Autoregulation), he laid out how this is possible. In total, he was able to more than double his body weight, during his training career: from originally 48kg to 104kg.

In the 20 years+ of weight training, body sculpting and dieting, he has written several books on these topics. The most renowned is likely Der Wille zur Kraft – Die 10 Gebote kompromissloser Leistungssteigerung in Bodybuilding & Kraftsport (The Will to Strength – The 10 Commandments of Uncompromising Performance Improvement in Bodybuilding & Weight Training). My take: it’s the first philosophical weight training book out there.

At that time, Christian also launched his “Der Wille zur Kraft” blog, where he regularly wrote philosophical articles on the topics of weight training, bodybuilding, mindset and development. With his radical, direct unique spin, he regularly inspired up to 50,000 readers per week, until he simply deleted the blog to focus on his body sculpting, and delve further into mental and spiritual development. Zippel has always been uncompromising and extreme.

Christian still weight trains every day – yet, according to the Pareto principle, focuses primarily on what’s truly relevant for his desired results. He has also published a book on this: HET – Hocheffizient trainieren (HET – High Efficiency Training). Furthermore, he is an enthusiastic martial artist. In total, he has published 16 books, in thematic fields spanning physics, fitness and philosophy.

4,000 BOOKS READ & NO FIXED ABODE

Christian has read well over 4,000 books. He’s a walking encyclopaedia – everything from quantum physics to psychology to fly fishing. There is no topic for which he has no book recommendation. When he moved to the baltic island of Rügen, Germany, it was for the fishing, about which he is passionate! He also lived in Zubzow Manor House, Germany, with a unique training and meditation room, right at the top of the tower. Christian loves extremes, and on 18th October 2018, he deregistered from Germany. Dissolved his residence, sold his possessions, cancelled contracts, he proceeded to simply travel the world, to live out a new level of freedom and development. He believes he has fully evolved beyond of every imaginable entanglement – to quote Tyler Durden (Fight Club): “The things you own end up owning you.”

I asked Christian “So, who or what are you?” His succinct answer: “A happy sapien!”
