SASCHA HEUPEL:
COACH FOR FREEDOM & AUTHENTICITY

For over five years, I’ve been living freely, without a permanent residence and fully location-independent. My work as a coach and therapist is deeply connected to this lifestyle – I travel the world and support people in exactly that: unfolding, finding clarity, and letting go of a life that doesn’t truly fit them. I love smart thinking, analytical psychology, hard-hitting philosophy, beautiful nature, powerful places, and raw Ruhrpott humor. One question drives me: How can we live a free, real, and fulfilling life – with flow and ease in all areas of life? That’s why I live, teach, and share the AMOR FATI philosophy – helping people become free, clear, and truly authentic. Because:

“There is no right life in the wrong one.” – Theodor W. Adorno

I’m a co-author of two German books by Dr. Z: “Bring den Müll raus: Radikal Ausmisten in neun Schritten” (Literally translated: “Kick Out the Trash – Radical Decluttering in Nine Steps”), with the bonus chapter “Das 1×1 des Auswanderns” (Literally translated: “The ABCs of Emigrating”), as well as the “Trust Chaos Workbook”. I also designed the covers and visual layout for both of these books – and contributed the cover and all illustrations to the “Trust Chaos Mainbook”.

Over the years, four main areas have emerged in which I support people. They often overlap – and they also reflect the way I live:

  • Philosophy & Therapy: Become who you are.
  • Fitness & Health: A healthy mind in a healthy body.
  • Purpose & Finances: Do your own thing.
  • Travel & Adventure: Become a global citizen.

GNOTHI SEAUTON – KNOW THYSELF!

My entry into the world of philosophy and therapy didn’t start with a lecture. It was a metamorphosis – raw, real, transformative. The sudden death of my mother in 2009, a break with parts of my social circle, depression, burnout, a crisis of meaning, debt, an empty job, and stagnant relationships triggered what I call: the full chaos package. Three rounds of classic therapy, five years on psychiatric medication, and intense self-exploration later, I was: stable. Functional. Able to get through the day. But happy? Free? Alive? Not even close. The doctors said:

“Patient stable. Therapy successful.” – But who the fuck wants that?

Much later, a mutual friend connected me with Dr. Christian Zippel – and suddenly, it hit me: inner resonance. That’s when philosophy entered my life – along with fire, intensity, and AMOR FATI. Over the course of many years, I dove deep into Dr. Z’s philosophy. Together, we traveled to more than 20 countries, lived and worked side by side. I coached with him, learned from him, trained, studied, read, reflected – and kept evolving. A shared path and a deeply personal one. What emerged wasn’t an academic or overly intellectual life, but what real philosophy is meant to be: lived attitude and embodied action.

Today, I’m grateful for every piece of chaos. It showed me what truly matters: clarity, freedom, depth, courage, trust, love – and the courage to walk your own authentic path. For me, philosophy isn’t empty talk – it’s lived practice and a guiding compass. Therapy isn’t about fixing symptoms – it’s about radical liberation. My training with Dr. Z, my studies in existential psychotherapy, and over 17 years of coaching experience all flow into my work today. #trustchaos #amorfati

LET GO – SUICIDE ONLY COSTS A LIFE… AND A WHOLE LOT OF COURAGE.

Long before AMOR FATI came into my life, my heart belonged to fitness and bodybuilding. I trained hard, read everything I could find on the topic, got multiple trainer certifications, built muscle, lost fat – and launched my first business while still at university: coaching, personal training, and a supplement store – full time. I trained six days a week, coached others, and even competed on stage myself.

After ten years, it was over. The game was played out. It was time for the next step: suicide – at least that’s what it felt like. Out of the supplement store. Out of the fitness business. Out of bodybuilding. Bodybuilding world champion and mutual friend Peter Baers connected me with Dr. Z. I went to visit him on the island of Rügen to talk about my exit – and after just two days, it was crystal clear: bodybuilding was dead. So was the coach named Sascha. And I had killed him myself. Philosophical? Absolutely. Liberating? Completely. Right there and then, I quit with my clients and left the fitness business behind.

Today, my knowledge of fitness, training, nutrition, hormones, fascia, physiotherapy, yoga, and meditation flows holistically into my work.

“Many fear the small death – the social one – and hardly dare to step out of line. Even more fear the great death – the absolute one. But really, the only thing we should fear is a dead life.” – Dr. Christian Zippel

DO YOUR OWN THING & FUCK IT

After completing my training as a marketing communications specialist, I wanted to go to university – but my grades weren’t good enough. So I started working in a traditional advertising agency, and later in project management and sales at a newspaper publisher. A few years later, I made up for the studies I had missed – five semesters of business administration with a focus on marketing. I also completed a certification as an online marketing manager. I put that know-how straight to use in building my supplement store and fitness coaching business.

Even after stepping out of the fitness business, I kept building on that foundation. I joined sales trainer Dirk Kreuter as an online marketing manager – start-up vibes, I was the fourth employee, and for a few weeks my desk was literally in the hallway. Perfect. We launched what’s known as performance marketing projects. At the time, I was working 60 to 70 hours a week – with full heart and energy. But I knew: this wasn’t forever.

After leaving the previous agency, I co-founded my own – together with a close friend and two business partners. Free, self-determined, doing our own thing. At the same time, I coached others on topics like marketing, sales, and the psychology of selling. My work in digital marketing eventually peaked in managing twelve online shops across ten countries – overseeing eight freelancers and coordinating everything through a single Excel sheet.

Through my development – both in coaching and in digital marketing – I was not only able to grow personally, but also pay off €50,000 in debt and student loans. That’s how I first became debt-free – and then financially free. But what mattered even more: I saw what’s possible when you combine clarity, focus, and real joy in what you do.

Today, I use my digital marketing expertise to help clients launch or grow their own thing professionally.

LIVE EASY – DIE HAPPY

In November 2019, I gave up my apartment in Germany, left the country – and buried the classic middle-class lifestyle, bureaucracy and all. Since then, I’ve been living without a permanent residence. I sold everything I owned and reduced my life to two bags and about twelve kilos. I go where I feel called – and if I like it, I stay.

In November 2019, I gave up my apartment in Germany, emigrated, and buried the classic middle-class lifestyle, bureaucracy and all. Since then, I’ve been living without a permanent residence. I sold everything I owned and reduced my life to two bags and about twelve kilos. I go where I feel called – and if I like it, I stay. I have international health insurance, liability coverage, and fixed monthly costs of around 300 euros. My work is fully location-independent and fully remote, with a small handful of wonderful clients – no more than 20 to 25 hours a week. The rest of the time I invest into: reading, writing, meditation, exercise, yoga, psychology, philosophy, wandering, enjoying life – and simply being. So far, I’ve traveled to 35 countries across five of the seven continents – including Antarctica.

Sounds too good to be true? That’s what I used to think, too. Today I know: it’s possible. And it’s a kind of freedom that’s hard to describe. When was the last time you took yourself out for a cappuccino in the sun – for a whole afternoon, unhurried, relaxed, and genuinely happy?

With that in mind… AMOR FATI
Yours,
Sascha
